The Navarino Network (NN) was founded in October 2009 and, since September 2010, it is an initiative of the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece. The NN is an independent, non-profit public policy lab that aims at promoting innovation and extroversion in the local public life. The mission of NN is to address the challenges of the new era, including those pertaining to globalization, European integration and economic development, through research and collective action. NN’s agenda bridges theory with practice and nourishes interest in public service. The NN believes strongly in the potential of Thessaloniki and its untapped resources that have a lot to do with its multi-cultural history, favorable geographical location and large, young and diverse population. The NN actively contributes to the better representation of Thessaloniki abroad by cooperating with foreign institutions, mainly from Europe and the Balkans. The NN hosts regular seminars and discussions on current affairs, conducts specific studies on public policy problems, including migration and the Greek economic crisis, and, organizes the annual Olympia Summer Academy (www.olympiasummeracademy.org) in politics and international studies, as well as the Thessaloniki International Symposium in world affairs (www .thessalonikisymposium.org).
